Study the newest information technology in-depth at NMSU Global Campus with our Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) degree program. Forbes Advisor has named our ICT program among their Best Online Information Technology Degree Options Of 2023.

In this program, you’ll gain practical knowledge and experience in managing and processing information on all layers of systems within an organizational infrastructure. You’ll also learn to develop software applications and maintain technology infrastructures in a variety of settings and disciplines.

We offer two distinct ICT degree pathways:

  1. An academic program for undergraduate students who have completed freshman and sophomore years in a computer degree or technology-related program at NMSU or another four-year institution.
  2. An online two-year degree completion program leading to a baccalaureate degree for graduates of computer and technology-related associate degree programs at community colleges or other two-year institutions.

At NMSU Global Campus, our ICT students participate in hands-on projects using virtual machines and simulated networking equipment. The senior project is a student-driven project with a full project management curriculum. Besides using a Learning Management System (LMS), the ICT program possesses a bank of servers to support several enterprise management courses.

We also offer sophisticated instruction on how to use operating systems and server software, such as Linux, Apache, OpenSSL, Windows Server, Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server and languages such as C, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, PHP, Python, and Java.

In this program, you will learn to:

  • Apply core principles of systems analysis to selected business processes within an organization.
  • Design selected network and cloud infrastructures associated with requirements of accepted industry ethical practices and organizational network operation.
  • Implement technological solutions and develop key database models that connect with business requirements for storage, retrieval, and use of data.

The Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology program consists of 120 credits. To earn this degree, you need to complete all University degree requirements, which include General Education requirements, Viewing a Wider World requirements, and elective credits, with 48 credits in courses numbered 300 or above.
