Whether or not you have a business background, the NMSU Global Campus MBA program develops your professional skills in marketing, management, accounting, finance, economics, business law, and more.

Learn to apply information systems to your managerial decision-making and use a systems perspective to formulate, implement, evaluate, and control various functions of an organization. Optional concentrations for your MBA are offered in Health Services Management and Information Systems.

The Master of Business Administration consists of 36 credits and only accepts students for Fall, though deficiency courses and prerequisites are available over Summer. 

You may satisfy the final exam by completing the general MBA degree’s necessary coursework and requirements for your selected concentration. By the end of your final semester, you must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Please note: you must be accepted into the graduate school before you can be considered for the MBA program. International students may only be accepted into the program if they graduated from a U.S. institution.

To gain admission into the MBA program, you must have one of the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree (with at least a 3.0 GPA)
  • A graduate degree
  • A professional certification (CPA, PMP, CMA, CFA, or CFP)
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or equivalent GRE score of at least 400 and a combined GMAT or GRE score and undergraduate GPA such that (GPA x 200) + GMAT ≥1050
  • 5 years of relevant work experience (more info on the department’s website)

As an incoming student, you must demonstrate a minimum level of background knowledge by completing (with an A or B) undergraduate courses in managerial accounting, financial accounting, macroeconomics, finance, statistics, and calculus. You may not complete more than 9 credits of required MBA courses prior to completion of the background knowledge courses.

As an alternative to the GMAT, you may submit a GRE score which can be converted to the equivalent GMAT score. For more information on test and admission requirements, please visit our catalog or email the MBA program contact.
