Admission Requirements

Applicants who meet all the requirements listed below will be offered admission to NMSU Global Campus. If you don’t meet every requirement, you may still be offered admission if a review of additional information indicates you’ll be successful in your program. We encourage all students to apply!

Regular Admission

To be admitted to NMSU Global Campus as a freshman, you must be a graduate of an accredited high school, submit your application for admission, and have at least one of the following:

  • A cumulative high school GPA of 2.75
  • A top 20% ranking in your graduating class
  • A composite ACT score of 21 or SAT score of 1060

While official ACT or SAT scores are not required, having them on file will maximize your scholarship opportunities and help with your math and English placement when you enroll. Our ACT code is 2638 and our SAT code is 4531. For information on upcoming test dates, please visit the ACT and SAT websites.

Home School Admission

To be admitted to NMSU Global Campus as a freshman, you must meet the same requirements as regular admission above, and provide a transcript or document from your home school educator with the following:

  • A list of the courses completed and grades earned
  • Graduation or completion date from the home school program

If you are a resident of New Mexico and planning on applying for the Lottery Success Scholarship and other institutional scholarships, you will need to submit proof to the Undergraduate Admissions Office that your home school program is registered with the New Mexico Public Education Department.

To be admitted into NMSU Global Campus as a transfer student, you must submit your application for admission, be eligible to return to your last college or university, and have:

  • At least a 2.0 cumulative GPA in your college courses
  • Official college transcripts or e-transcripts (mailed directly to NMSU from each college or university you attended)
  • 24 completed credit hours at a non-military college/university

If you have fewer than 24 completed college credits, you must fulfill the First Time Freshmen admission requirements. Courses taken for college credit while enrolled in high school are not counted toward the 24 credit hours.

To be admitted into NMSU Global Campus as a graduate student, you must submit two different applications: one to NMSU Global Campus and one to your desired graduate program. To learn specific information about deadlines and admission requirements, please find your program in our academic catalog.

When you submit your application, it is sent directly to the academic program for review. Once a recommendation is made, the graduate school will email you with additional instructions. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to our Admissions team.

To be admitted into NMSU Global Campus as an international student, you must meet the same admissions standards as NMSU Main Campus students, but some additional requirements apply.

For instance, you must submit your transcripts to an approved evaluation agency if you attended a non-U.S. institution. Depending on your country of citizenship, you may also need to pass an English-language proficiency exam (TOEFL/IELTS).

More information on application requirements can be found on our International Students page.
